We have spent much of the previous resilience modules talking about looking after ourselves, setting goals, taking action, and generally being freaking awesome….
But what happens when we set our minds to something and it doesn’t work out?
We don’t get the job, we chicken out on that 10k run, or we make the same mistake again – the one we promised ourselves we won’t make.
The ability to reassess our goals and performance, to get back up again, and to keep trying is the psychological construct known as GRIT.
Module 11: Challenge Negativity, of The Resilience Toolkit eCourse, explains the definition of grit and how it pulls together all of the elements of resilience we’ve talked about so far in this series.
Find out how to challenge negative thoughts and deal with failure – for ourselves and others around us. If we make mistakes, or if we have a negative experience, learn about the ‘thinking traps’ we can fall into when something doesn’t go to plan and the strategies we can use to get out of them and pick ourselves back up.

At AwesoME Inc we have created The Resilience Toolkit eCourse and are currently releasing one module per month direct to you. Starting in January we introduced to you our Resilience Toolkit with Module 1: an Introduction, in which I asked you to do a resilience stock-take. If you haven’t already signed up to receive this FREE Module to begin your journey, you can do so here.
In Module 2, we started focusing on the theme of RELAX, where I show you how to get familiar and regularly practicing two of the easiest and most well researched relaxation techniques – Breathing & Guided Meditation. The RELAX theme is continued in Module 3, with how to calm your mind using Mindfulness and again in Module 4 where we go in depth into the practice of Gratitude.
Our next theme of ENGAGE started with Module 7: Social Connection where we learnt how to build on our social connected-ness and Module 8: Communicate, shows us how we can communicate effectively and positively with others. Module 9: Contribution completes this theme where we show you how to find your passion and what gives your life meaning.
Next is DEVELOP and the first module of the theme starts with Module 10: Mindsets and how you can change your own mindset to one of growth. Our latest installment shows you how to Challenge Negativity, learn about the ‘thinking traps’ you can fall into when something doesn’t go to plan and the strategies you can use to get out of them and get back up.
